Research

FoCUS’s profile and relevance lie in applying a learning perspective to current welfare challenges related to the social and health care sector. We generate knowledge in areas such as pedagogy, didactics, learning, innovation, workplace learning, inter-organisational learning and educational leadership.

The Centre explores and develops collaborative research methods and approaches that combine knowledge creation with development. Such methods and approaches are particularly important to social and health care education.

The empirical fields covered by the Centre’s research activities span different learning contexts within the social and health care sector. As a general rule, projects will be externally funded.

FoCUS’s activities will involve various collaborations between international and national researchers and knowledge professionals from Denmark’s social and health care colleges, knowledge centres, municipalities, regions and stakeholder organisations, such as Local Government Denmark and Danish Regions.

These collaborations are established and implemented through specific joint activities, such as funding applications, internally funded research projects and publications. A separate agreement is drawn up for each activity, specifying the form and content of the collaboration and the nature of the individual project’s affiliation with FoCUS.

Researcher Network

The Centre’s researcher network meets four times a year.

The network consists of researchers from different universities and university colleges who share a particular interest in research into social and health care education.
